Pairing Your BlueAnt

Step 4: Select Your BlackBerry® Model

Select your phone model from the list below.

BlackBerry® 7100 Series

  1. Use the tracking wheel to select Options.
  2. Select Bluetooth and make sure that Bluetooth is enabled.
  3. Use the tracking wheel to select Add Device.
  4. Wait for your phone to search for devices, then select your BlueAnt device from the list.
  5. If you are prompted for a PIN, enter 0000 (four zeros).

Your BlueAnt device is now paired.

To ensure that your phone will automatically reconnect to your BlueAnt device, you should configure it as a trusted device:

  1. On your BlackBerry phone, select your BlueAnt from the list of Bluetooth devices and press the BlackBerry menu button.
  2. From the menu, select Device Properties
  3. By default the Trusted setting is set to Ask. Change this to Yes.
  4. Press the Back button and you will be prompted to save your changes. Select Save.

Your BlueAnt device is now configured as a trusted device. Your BlackBerry phone will automatically connect to it in future.

Tip: you can also make the pairing a trusted connection by selecting the option Don't ask this again before responding Yes any time the BlackBerry phone prompts you to confirm whether to allow your BlueAnt device to connect.

BlackBerry® Pearl™ Series (8100 and 8110)

  1. Press the BlackBerry menu button.
  2. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on and select the Set Up Bluetooth option.
  3. Press the BlackBerry menu button and select Add Device, then select Search for devices from here.
  4. Wait for your phone to search for devices, then select your BlueAnt device from the list.
  5. If you are prompted for a PIN, enter 0000 (four zeros).

Your BlueAnt device is now paired.

To ensure that your phone will automatically reconnect to your BlueAnt device, you should configure it as a trusted device:

  1. On your BlackBerry phone, select your BlueAnt from the list of Bluetooth devices and press the BlackBerry menu button.
  2. From the menu, select Device Properties
  3. By default the Trusted setting is set to Ask. Change this to Yes.
  4. Press the Back button and you will be prompted to save your changes. Select Save.

Your BlueAnt device is now configured as a trusted device. Your BlackBerry phone will automatically connect to it in future.

Tip: you can also make the pairing a trusted connection by selecting the option Don't ask this again before responding Yes any time the BlackBerry phone prompts you to confirm whether to allow your BlueAnt device to connect.

BlackBerry® Curve™ 8300 Series (8300)

  1. Press the BlackBerry menu button.
  2. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on and select the Set Up Bluetooth option.
  3. Press the BlackBerry menu button and select Add Device, then select Search for devices from here.
  4. Wait for your phone to search for devices, then select your BlueAnt device from the list.
  5. If you are prompted for a PIN, enter 0000 (four zeros).

Your BlueAnt device is now paired.

To ensure that your phone will automatically reconnect to your BlueAnt device, you should configure it as a trusted device:

  1. On your BlackBerry phone, select your BlueAnt from the list of Bluetooth devices and press the BlackBerry menu button.
  2. From the menu, select Device Properties

  4. Select Add Device and choose Search when prompted whether to search or listen for devices.
  5. Wait for your phone to search for devices, then select your BlueAnt device from the list.
  6. If you are prompted for a PIN, enter 0000 (four zeros).

Your BlueAnt device is now paired.

To ensure that your phone will automatically reconnect to your BlueAnt device, you should configure it as a trusted device:

  1. On your BlackBerry phone, select your BlueAnt from the list of Bluetooth devices and press the BlackBerry menu button.

  1. Press the BlackBerry menu button.
  2. Select Options and then Bluetooth.
  3. Press the BlackBerry menu button.
  4. Select Enable Bluetooth.
  5. Press the BlackBerry menu button.
  6. Select Add Device.
  7. Wait for your phone to search for devices, then select your BlueAnt device from the list.
  8. If you are prompted for a PIN, enter 0000 (four zeros).

Your BlueAnt device is now paired.

To ensure that your phone will automatically reconnect to your BlueAnt device, you should configure it as a trusted device:

  1. On your BlackBerry phone, select your BlueAnt from the list of Bluetooth devices and press the BlackBerry menu button.
  2. From the menu, select Device Properties
  3. By default the Trusted setting is set to Ask. Change this to Yes.
  4. Press the Back button and you will be prompted to save your changes. Select Save.

Other BlackBerry Models

We are currently working to include pairing instructions for as many phone models as possible. If your phone is not yet listed in our system, then follow these general steps:

  1. Go to your phone's Bluetooth menu.
  2. Select Pair, Add Device, or Add New Device.
  3. Wait for your phone to search for devices, then select your BlueAnt device from the list.
  4. If you are prompted for a PIN, enter 0000 (four zeros).
  5. If you are prompted to connect to the device, select Yes or Connect.

Your BlueAnt device is now paired.

On some phones you may also need to change a security setting to ensure that your phone will automatically reconnect to your BlueAnt device in future. Check the section on pairing in your phone's manual or consult your phone manufacturer for more information. If this applies to your phone you will need to configure your BlueAnt device as a "trusted device".
